Today in China, there are 56 ethnic groups including the Hans. They differ greatly in size.
The Hans are the most numerous—more than all the rest put together. They constitute 91.59%
of Chinese population according to the 2000 national population census.
All the rest combine to make up just 8.41%.Of these minority groups, the largest is the
Zhuang, with more than 15 million people; next come the Manchu, Hui, Miao, Uygur,Yi, and
